ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – Police in Enfield, Connecticut say a man with a knife robbed a drug store early Wednesday morning, and then made a getaway toward I-91.
According to a news release sent to 22News by Enfield Police, the suspect entered the CVS/Pharmacy at Hazard Avenue and Freshwater Boulevard just after 4:00 A.M. The man jumped over the counter, showed the cashier a knife, and threatened to use it to cut the employee.
The cashier opened the register, and the thief made off with $1, $5, and $10 bills. The suspect then left in a waiting pickup truck and headed toward I-91.
No one was hurt in the robbery, and police are now reviewing surveillance video.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black ski mask, a dark sweatshirt, and dark pants. The getaway truck is described as being maroon in color, with a silver stripe down the side. Police say the truck is “low to the ground” and had tinted windows. It was being driven by a white man.
