SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Governor Deval Patrick is in Springfield Wednesday morning to speak with local business leaders.
The governor arrived at the MassMutual Center to address the Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Business West Expo. Patrick discussed his administration’s initiatives to increase economic growth across the state.
Last week, Patrick came to Springfield to announce the recommendation of Changchun Railway Vehicles’ bid to build MBTA subway cars at a new plant on Page Boulevard. The proposal was approved by the board of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation the following week.
The governor’s Wednesday visit to western Massachusetts is expected to be brief, as he is scheduled to chair a meeting of the Governor’s Council in Boston at noon.
