SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A church group issued a plea Saturday for Springfield teenagers to stay positive.
The Greater New Life Christian Center accompanied that plea with hours of activities for young people at Myrtle park in the cities Indian Orchard neighborhood.
The organizers told 22News, Saturday’s park activities are designed to help inner city children keep their minds on keeping them out of trouble.
Ray Harris of Springfield told 22News, “There are a lot of things going on with kids, it’s not really helpful. They’re trying to make it bigger than what it is. Help the area. Make sure they have a safe environment.”
The theme of the Myrtle Park activities centered on celebrating all the good Springfield’s young people have to offer.
