CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The weather we had this week has caused a lot of leaves to come down and if you don’t pick them up they could make for some problems.
The fall nor’easter that brought rain and wind to western Massachusetts this week also knocked a lot of the leaves off the trees and onto people’s lawns. While raking wet leaves is not all that easy to do, once those leaves dry out a little bit you may want to try and pick them up when you can.
Nalini Benoit of the Sixteen Acres Garden Center told 22News, “You’ll find that if it’s packed down, and it stays wet, there’s the possibility of some mold. It’ll be that much harder to rake them up. Also if you can get out there and rake this weekend it’ll be wonderful the grass will be happy.”
You should also try and clear the leaves out of your gutters so they don’t overflow. The water could end up getting into your home.
