HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Holyoke business is expected to be open again on Friday, following a small fire overnight.
Fire Capt. Anthony Cerrutti told 22News that a fire started at around 4:00 A.M. at Susan’s Café, located at the corner of Hampden and Nonotuck Streets. Cerrutti said that as the business owner and workers were preparing for the day, they smelled smoke.
They called the fire department, which put out a small fire in the basement ceiling area using a fire extinguisher.
No one was hurt, and the exact cause of the fire has not been determined.
