CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Ebola Virus is extremely infectious, but it’s not highly contagious. The virus only spreads through direct contact with an Ebola patient’s bodily fluids.
However, even the tiniest amount can cause serious illness. Many people are concerned about the high mortality rate of the disease.
“It seems like this is a huge problem. It’s a disease we don’t’ have any cures for, and the more people, the cases keep popping up in the U.S., the more concern for everybody.”
Typical Ebola symptoms include weakness, fever, aches, diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. Most people show symptoms 8 to 10 days after their exposure to the virus.
