PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Three people have been charged with allegedly taking young women from Massachusetts to Rhode Island with the intent of forcing them to participate in commercial sexual activity.

Federal prosecutors say 33-year-old Ricky Wallace, of Pawtucket, recruited two women, including a minor, and that 34-year-old Kemont Bowie, of Providence, and 20-year-old Raechyl Spooner, of Pawtucket, drove them from Boston to Spooner’s residence and formed them into prostitution in August.

Wallace and Bowie were charged with with conspiracy, sex trafficking of a child, transportation of a minor for sexual activity and other charges. Spooner was charged with conspiracy.

United States Attorney Peter F. Neronha announced the seven-count indictment Friday.

It is unclear who is representing Wallace, Bowie and Spooner. The arraignments have not yet been scheduled.
