8 arrested at overnight sobriety checkpoint

Sobriety checkpoint locations are kept secret until the roadblocks are set up

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The special drunk driving unit of the Massachusetts State Police was busy overnight at their sobriety checkpoint on Route 33, Memorial Drive in Chicopee.

State Police Lt. John Healy told 22News officers arrested 8 drivers who allegedly had too much to drink.

At least once a month the State Police set up a checkpoint for sobriety testing either in Hampden or Hampshire County. The sobriety checkpoint locations are kept secret until the roadblocks are set up.
