Missing Pittsfield woman safe after spending night in car

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A woman fromPittsfield reported missing when she didn’t return home has been found safe and in good health after spending the night in her disabled car.

Police say 53-year-old Ann Jorn drove to October Mountain State Forest in the town of Washington at about 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Berkshire Eagle reports that she was reported missing by her husband on Sunday evening after she failed to return home.

Police say the woman’s car got stuck on a tree stump near the Appalachian Trail. She stayed in her car overnight and kept warm with a blanket she kept in her car.

She was located at about 9:30 a.m. Monday.
