BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) – More than 400 houses in Belchertown lost power early Tuesday morning after an excavator knocked a powerline down near 20 Stebbins Street. A dispatcher from Belchertown’s Police Department told 22News Verizon and National Grid were both notified.
National Grid spokesman, Jake Navarro, told 22News 484 houses on Stebbins St. and Bay Rd. lost power at 7:30 a.m. after a car crash knocked over a utility pole on Stebbins St. He said 400 of those houses would have their power restored by 10:30 a.m., while the other houses had their power restored around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
