Fundraiser benefits Greenfield High School graduate

Saturday night's fundraiser will help James go to college

TURNERS FALLS, Mass. (WWLP) – A special fundraiser for a special young man Saturday night.

It was a packed room at the Montague Elks Club in the Franklin County town of Turners Falls, and it’s all to benefit James Hill, a former graduate of Greenfield High School who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The event featured raffles and dancing.

James told 22News seeing so much support from his friends and the community has helped him have a positive outlook on life.

He said, “A lot of it is knowing that it’s there, but not letting it define who I am. You know just because I have something doesn’t mean it has to control my whole life.”

Saturday night’s fundraiser will help James go to college. He said he hopes to attend Greenfield Community College in the coming year.
