One person killed in 5-alarm fire in Boston

ROXBURY, Mass. (WWLP) – The Boston Fire Department has confirmed that an adult male was killed Friday night when a duplex in Roxbury caught fire.

According to our NBC Affiliates, WHDH is reporting that the fire started in a three and a half story home on Winthrop Street around 9:00 p.m. and quickly escalated to 5 alarms.

Police said 30 people are homeless Friday night due to the fire. The Boston Fire Department Twitter page reports that a joint investigation of the fire will be conducted by the Boston Fire, Boston Police Homicide and the Suffolk DA’ office.
