Hiker in WMass calls police to say she’s lost

It took State Police several hours to find the hiker

WASHINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman lost in the October Mountain State Forest in the Berkshire County town of Washington was found Friday night.

Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Tom Ryan told 22News the woman called police to say she was lost just before 8 o’clock.

She was spotted by a State Police Air Wing pilot who was flying above the area. The pilot then directed rescuers on the ground, through a marsh, to get to her. They used ATV’s, night vision, and infrared in the rescue, and found her unharmed.
