One dead in Williamsburg car crash

Sgt Ryan said state police re-routed traffic for three hours

WILLIAMSBURG, Mass. (WWLP) – The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office confirmed that a man was killed in Sunday morning’s car crash in the Hampshire County town of Williamsburg.

25-year-old Tomas Clark was killed. He was the passenger in the 1995 Toyota Camry being driven by a 26-year-old man from Hatfield. Their car crashed into a utility pole on Main Street at around 3 in the morning.

Mary Carey of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office says it appears they were speeding as they tried to navigate a curve and lost control.

Both men had to be freed from the mangled wreck by firefighters. Traffic was detoured for several hours while the pole was repaired.

The driver, who’s still alive, was taken to Baystate Medical Center. So far, no charges have been filed.
