Gas prices inch closer to 3 dollars a gallon

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – When a western Massachusetts service station charges less than the competition, the owner can expect to do a lot of business.

The pumps at A&A Service Station in Holyoke were hardly ever idle as drivers took advantage of their lower than average price of $3.18 a gallon.

Drivers were feeling great about paying less than they had been and perhaps less than 3 dollars a gallon in the near future.

“I think that would be great, considering the kind of money we spend on gas,” said Marc Verelst of Agawam. “It’ll be a lot of uplift to a lot of people, it’ll make it more affordable anyway.”

As in the case with that Agawam driver, we’re told many people are willing to travel to service stations in a different city or town If they’re rewarded with lower prices for their trouble.
