PROVINCETOWN, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts state police say a search for a woman who went missing in Provincetown has ended with the discovery of her body in Blackwater Pond.
Police announced on Saturday that they received a call for assistance in locating the missing woman just before 2 p.m. Friday. Troopers from the state police Special emergency Response Team, dogs and divers were dispatched to the area to assist in the search.
The woman’s body was found just after 9 a.m.
Authorities did not release additional information, including circumstances in which the woman went missing or the identity of the victim.
State police troopers and officials in Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office are investigating.
