Chicopee residents have “Coffee with a Cop”

New program held at Chick-fil-A in Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Having coffee with a cop isn’t something we do every day, but it could be an effective way for police to communicate with the public.

On Saturday morning, Chicopee Police Officer Michael Wilk began this informative new program at the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Memorial Drive.

Wilk told 22News he got to know the customers and what’s on their minds, and they got to know a man in blue.

Officer Wilk said, “So far there are nobody coming in with any concerns. It’s been pretty positive, just a good dialogue.”

Danielle Cloutier of Chicopee said, “He was nice, very down to earth, he came over to us actually, so it was nice.”

Some of the children Officer Wilk spoke with had never before talked one on one with a member of the Chicopee Police Department.
