GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A call about a man throwing rocks led Greenfield police to arrest an alleged drunk driver for the second time.

Greenfield Police posted on their official Facebook page that Brandon Sayer, 34, of Bernardston was arrested Monday night on charges of OUI (second offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a Class E substance, and possession of open containers of alcohol.

Police say that officers were called to Harris Court at around 10:20 P.M. on a report of a man who was refusing to leave a home there, and was throwing rocks. Officers later received word that the man had left the area in a vehicle, which was described to them.

A vehicle matching that description was spotted by an officer a short distance away. Police say the car was going at about 65 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone. The officer reported that the driver went up onto the curb a few times before finally pulling over for police at Elm and Conway Streets.

The officer arrested Sayer, believing there was probable cause to make an arrest for OUI. Inside the vehicle, Greenfield police say white pills and open containers of alcohol were found.

Sayer was released on $100 bail shortly after midnight Tuesday.
