Children locked away

Joshua Steinbronn

(KWWL) A Westgate, Iowa has been arrested for child endangerment after investigators say he locked five children in a room and left them there for more than 24 hours.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office also says Joshua Steinbronn, 28, did that more than once.

Deputies were called the home on Friday morning to investigate a domestic disturbance. They say they could hear yelling from inside the home and saw several small children in a window crying.

Investigators say once they got inside the home, they found five children, from 3 to 9 years old, locked in a bedroom.

Steinbronn is accused of putting his girlfriend’s kids in that room, denying them food and the use of a bathroom. The children told law enforcement they had to urinate in cups and sometimes on the floor.
