Springfield shooting victim has died

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man who was shot Sunday night in Springfield’s Six Corners neighborhood has become the city’s 12th homicide victim of 2014.

Police Capt. Thomas Trites told 22News that Tavis Humphrey-Frazer, 20, of Springfield, died at Baystate Medical Center at around 11:00 P.M. from a gunshot wound to the head.

Springfield Police Sgt. Lawrence Murphy told 22News that the shooting happened near Knox and Mill Street just after 6:00 Sunday evening. He was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center, and Springfield Police Detectives arrived looking to speak to possible witnesses or victims.

No arrests have yet been made, and Trites said that they aren’t releasing any additional details about the investigation at this time.
