Earn A Bike

Earn A Bike (click that link for times/dates) is a hands on program within HUBS that gives students the opportunity to gain a bike through a 6 to 8 week training session. Participants are given lessons to deconstruct, construct, and repair their own bicycle. Once students have completed all the lessons, they have earned their way to a bike.

Bike Crew

Bike Crew (click that link for times/dates) is the HUBS youth leadership team. We not only work on bikes to hone our mechanical skills but volunteer at charity rides, lead community rides, compete in cycling events, and work collaboratively with the city of Holyoke on bike infrastructure projects. Our goals are to have fun, work hard, and play hard on bikes.

Training

Bike mechanic training is an important part of the HUBS community education. We offer courses from beginner to advanced training in full bike mechanics, maintenance, and repair. Whether you want to know more about your bike or wish to be a trained bike mechanic we offer the training to meet those goals.HUBS’ most popular program is our 6-8 week Earn-A-Bike program, where students learn, deconstruct, repair and reconstruct different bicycle systems and their components. By completing each lesson, students earn the components of the system, and when they’ve completed them all, they’ve earned a bicycle.

HUBS offers its mechanical abilities and working shop for Tune Ups and repairs. We allow bikes to be dropped off at our shop during our open hours and offer reasonable and negotiable prices on minor to advanced repairs.

Donations

Cleaning out your basement, or garage? Need a place to drop off your old bikes? HUBS takes all bike donations and puts effort into giving that old bike a new home. No bike is too old or too small. Call us at 534-5631 x114!
