5 forced from Springfield home in fire

Fire believed to have started on second-story porch

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield firefighters are looking into what caused a Friday morning fire that forced out the residents of a two-family home in the Forest Park neighborhood.

Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Guyer told 22News that the fire at 130-132 Firglade Avenue was reported just after 10:30 A.M. Guyer said that the fire appears to have started on the second-story porch, and then spread to the second floor and the attic.

Five residents and one dog will be unable to return to the home until repairs are made.

The Pioneer Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross will be assisting the victims.
