(KSEE) California’s “Courtney” wildfire has destroyed several homes near Bass Lake as crews continue their work to contain the blaze.
The fire consumed several hundred acres Sunday afternoon. Nearly 1,000 residents were evacuated.
The Red Cross has opened a shelter at the Oakhurst Community Center, where many residents are waiting to hear if they’ve lost their home.
So far crews report 20% containment.
