Route 57 reopened after a two car crash

Agawam and State Police are both at the accident

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Police in Agawam are investigating a two car crash that closed a portion of Route 57 in Agawam for about an hour Monday night.

Mass. State Police told 22News that two vehicles, a car and a pick-up truck, were involved in an accident Monday night that sent multiple people to the hospital with minor injuries. The number of people injured in the accident is unknown at this time; however, the pick-up truck rolled over on its top and the car landed in the woods.

The right lane of Route 57 was closed, and traffic was moving slowly; everything was cleared by 10:30 p.m. Monday. The Agawam Fire Department confirmed with 22News earlier that they were assisting the Agawam Police Department and Mass. State Police from the Springfield Barracks to clear the accident and help anyone involved.
