Hundreds of children are killed in car crashes each year across America; many of these accidents could have been prevented if the children were buckled up correctly.
Holyoke’s Fire Department will show families how to install car seats for their children on Monday at a car seat safety event. The event takes place at Holyoke’s Fire Department Headquarters and runs from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Certified child passenger safety inspectors will help parents adjust or install car seats, as well as information to keep children safe in cars. Holyoke firefighters said more than 90% of car seats they’ve checked at previous events weren’t safe enough or needed to be adjusted.
This event is free and children who attend will receive a free book. Here’s a link for more information on how you can protect your child on the road.
