(WDIV) – Three Ferndale officers are under investigation for a prank gone wrong. The ordeal started with a dog being brought to the Ferndale Police Department that was not wanted any longer.
The dispatcher at the police department showed initial interest in keeping the dog but soon changed their mind. The dog was never brought to animal control so it sat at the police department.
That is when three officers thought it would be funny to tie the dog to the front door of the dispathcers home. Unfortunately for the officers and the owner of the home, the house that the dog was tied to was not in fact the house of the dispatcher.
Many in the neighborhood and within the department did not find the prank funny and find that the actions of the officers put people in danger and wasted resources.
