AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – When it comes to the Millennial generation, in most cases their digital devices are almost like extra limbs. They grew up with computers, and now rely on phones and tablets for social networking, convenience, and finding information.
Despite that digital dependence, Millennials are just as likely as older adults to have used a library over the past year.
According to a Pew Research survey, more than 60% of Americans under age 30 say there is useful, important information in libraries that is not available online. That was surprising to some young people 22News spoke to, who prefer the convenience of websites.
“You can get it so fast. Even on my phone, if I wanted to know something or read something, I just look it up,” Samantha Sanborn of Agawam said. It’s so much faster; you can Google anything.
Close to 80-percent of young adults said they believe people without internet access are at a disadvantage.
