And the Pychon award goes to…

Award was first established in 1915

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A ceremony was held Friday to celebrate this years honoree of the ‘William Pynchon Award’ in Springfield.

Kathy Picard is the 2014 honoree. She was nominated for her work promoting with promoting awareness of childhood sexual abuse.

“Quite an honor. I’m speechless. There’s so many words that I can say. It’s quite an honor to get this and to be in this group of such great people,” said Kathy Picard, 2014 Pynchon honoree.

The Pynchon Award is given to distinguished people who are making a difference in their communities. Honorees receive a bronze metal that says “They Honor Us Whom We Honor.”

The award was first established in 1915.
