AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – Local residents who rely on the services of the Amherst Survival Center will now have a better way to get there. For the second day, PVTA buses began arriving outside the center on Sunderland Road in North Amherst.
The survival center distributes free food and furniture to families in need in the Amherst area.
The buses from the PVTA Puffer’s Pond Shopper’s Shuttle run every half hour, and during weekends for clients without their own transportation.
A spokesperson for the survival center told 22News that it will take a couple of weeks to get the word out to all those who might benefit from the bus service. They expect that it will be of great benefit to those who use the center’s services.
