Local college offering free work training course

Classes are five hours a day, for ten weeks

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke Community College offers free training for a well paying job, and they have slots open.

HCC teamed up with Springfield Technical Community College to provide a free ten-week training course that prepares students to become manufacturing production technicians. According to one recruiting website, the job pays up to sixty thousand dollars a year.

HCC student Kelly Collette plans to take the course. She told 22News, “That sounds very good, very good, I was in manufacturing for a long time, I have a certificate now that’ll up my chances.”

Holyoke Community College told 22News they still have openings for the five-hour-a-day, ten-week course that starts September 15th.
