AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The National Weather Service has cancelled a Severe Thunderstorm Warning that was in effect for eastern portions of Hampshire County and southeastern Franklin County. The warning was issued after the thunderstorm, which was capable of producing quarter-sized hail and wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour, moved through the Amherst area, bringing heavy lightning.
