SPRINGFIELD, Mas. (WWLP) – While August ended Sunday, and September started Monday, Labor Day, some western Massachusetts residents said it felt more like the first day of Summer than the season’s unofficial end.
Temperatures climbed very close to ninety degrees Monday, but the humidity made it feel much hotter. The unusual warmth brought people out to Look Park in Northampton, walking their dogs, riding bicycles taking walks through the park, and even running races (not a cooling off activity).
Summertime fans were happy to see the hazy, hot humid weather.
“It’s a wonderful day. I’m able to swim, and walk the dog. It’s just been a great day. Sorry to see it end, through. Even though I know it’s September, I wish August were a little bit longer,” said Debbie Blume of Florence.
