What should you do during an emergency?

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – September is Emergency Preparedness Month and 22News is working for you with some helpful reminders to keep you safe in a disaster.

Things To Remember:

- Be aware of emergency alert systems in place.

- Have a plan of where and how to re-unite with family if you become separated.

- Be ready to be self sufficient for at least three days.

Things you need: 

- Gallons of water

- Flashlight

- Extra batteries

- Non-perishable food

- Manual can opener

- First aid kit.

Consider keeping a mobile emergency kit in your car with extra gasoline and a way to charge your cell phone. Also, review your emergency preparedness plans so you know what to do when disaster strikes.
