Car hits tree in Amherst, two taken to the hospital

The car was demolished. Occupants thrown from vehicle

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – Two people were rushed to the hospital after their car crashed into a tree in front of the house on South East Street in Amherst Monday night.

First responders told 22News at the crash site that the two people inside the car were thrown from the vehicle on impact sometime after 10:00 p.m. Monday night.

Live video pictures which aired on 22News at 11:00 p.m. Monday showed the demolished vehicle between the trunk of a tree and a brick building.

Amherst Police told 22News that both people inside the car were injured, but are expected to survive.
