SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Sunday was the final day of the 26th-annual Stone Soul Festival at Springfield’s Blunt Park.
A highlight of the day was the honors ceremony for leaders of Springfield’s African-American community.
Hundreds of families came for the third day of festivities. People 22News spoke with feel the festival has had a positive impact on them.
“Absolutely, it’s always awesome when there’s positivity in the community, and we have the things going on, we get together and have fun,” said Jillian Mayers of Springfield.
The Stone Soul Festival also served to bring together former neighbors, many who moved away, but come back each year for old time’s sake at this Blunt Park gathering.
