Benefit held for Spfld. motorcycle accident victim

Mark Twining died in an accident in Florida in March

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A benefit was held Sunday night for a Springfield man who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Florida.

Mark Twining was 46 years old when he was died in March of this year while riding his motorcycle in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

On Sunday night, his friends and family packed the Elks Lodge on Tiffany Street in Springfield to raise money and awareness. They told 22News they plan of setting up a fund to help the children of future motorcycle accident victims.

“My brother’s children can actually pay it forward,” said Tricia Twining. “The families can apply for funds for help and we’re going to donate and the next benefit party that we have will be for them. So every year, we’re going to have a ride forever free foundation party for a family in need.”

Twining said she doesn’t want families to be burdened with the sudden expense of a burial.
