300 bags of heroin confiscated in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two alleged heroin dealers and were arrested yesterday in a parking lot located on State Street.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News Jamie Lopez of Rochester New York and Jose Figueroa of Springfield were arrested Wednesday night outside the Day and Night Convenience Store at 671 State Street.

The men were allegedly carrying 300 bags of heroin and over $1,500 on cash at the time of their arrest. Sgt. Delaney said Springfield police have taken more than 600 bags of heroin off the city streets in the last two days.

The two suspects are charged with the following:

  1. Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute
  2. Violation of a Drug Free School Zone
  3. Conspiracy
