WWLP-22News to Originate Live Broadcast of Democratic Gubernatorial Debate

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Wednesday, August 27 at 8 p.m., WWLP-22News will produce and originate a live broadcast of a Democratic Gubernatorial Debate from the 22News Studios in Chicopee. The hour-long debate will include candidates Don Berwick, Martha Coakley, and Steven Grossman.

Moderated by 22News Anchor Barry Kriger, participating candidates will be questioned by a panel of local and regional reporters. The day prior to the debate, the public will also be able to submit questions for possible use during the broadcast by using the “ReportIt!” feature on WWLP.com.

WWLP President and General Manager Bill Pepin said, “We are very pleased to offer the viewers in western Massachusetts this important debate prior to the election of a new governor in November. Since we have the largest production facility in the area with the necessary technical resources, our Chicopee studios afford an ideal location for such a high-profile political event.”

The debate will also be streamed live on WWLP.com.
