CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Just weeks ahead of the State Primary election, Suffolk University released Monday night a new poll.
Attorney General Martha Coakley is leading the Gubernatorial race on the Democrat side with 42 percent of voter support. Treasurer Steve Grossman has 30%, and Don Berwick has 16%.
The State Primary will be held just a couple weeks from now on September 9th. 22News Political Consultant Tony Cignoli told 22News it is possible, between now and the Primary, those poll numbers could change.
Cignoli said, “The unique thing now is that Don Berwick is raising more money than his opponents. He’s even raising more money than Charlie Baker, which is stunning, but does he know how to spend the money? Can he make up some difference on the ground?”
On the Republican side, Charlie Baker is 60 points ahead of Mark Fisher.
This Wednesday, 22News will host an hour-long debate with all three Democrats for Governor of Massachusetts. In addition to panelists’ questions, we would like to know if you have any question you would liked asked. Click Here to submit your questions.
