iPhone 5 battery issue prompts recall

Phones sold between Sept. 2012 – Jan. 2013 affected

NEW YORK (NBC NEWS) – Apple’s replacing some iPhone batteries for running out of juice. The replacement program covers a limited number of iPhone 5’s.

Issues include a suddenly shorter battery life and a need to charge your phone more often. Affected phones were sold between September 2012 and January 2013.

To see if yours is affected:

  • Log on to Apple.com and click on Support
  • Scroll down and click on “All Programs”
  • Select “iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program”
  • Enter your Serial Number
