AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Getting around Agawam could be a challenge for commuters today.
Agawam’s Shriner’s Parade kicks off this afternoon.
The parade begins at 2 P.M., but the route will be closed for commuters starting at 1:30 P.M.
Mill and Springfield Street are the two main roads that will be closed down.
Volunteers will start marching at Agawam’s Junior High School on Springfield Street, which is where the closures begin. Side streets off of Springfield St. will also be closed to drivers trying to get through.
The parade ends at Agawam High School on Mill St., and the same closures will be in effect for streets off of Mill St.
Those streets will re-open to traffic immedietly after the parade, which is expected to end at 4:00 PM. Detours for those closures will be in effect.
