Calm returns, concern remains in Ferguson

Hundreds of flowers line the road where Michael Brown was killed.

(NBC News) – Protesters gathered again overnight in Ferguson, Missouri and for the third straight night the community continued to march toward calm.

“There were no Molotov cocktails tonight, no fires, no shootings. We did not seize a single handgun,” Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson said.

Roses have replaced the rage of earlier violence. Hundreds of flowers now line the road where Michael Brown was killed.

Fundraising has also become an issue.

A crowdfunding site has one page set up to help Brown’s family as they move forward.

The same web site is also accepting donations for officer Darren Wilson’s family and his defense.
More than 5,000 people have donated more than $225,000 in the last four days.
