DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The calendar may read late August, but a sure sign of fall is already here: some local orchards are already picking apples.
At Clarkdale Farm in Deerfield, Tom Clark is picking Paula apples, an early red variety of the popular fruit. Clark said that with the recent wet weather and cooler temperatures, they have had a very good crop this year.
Some of their other well-liked varieties of apples, including the ever-popular Macintosh will be available a little later in the season.
