SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – In some races, voters will not have to wait until November for final results.

The Hampden District Attorney’s race does not have any Republican candidates, but State Primaries often draw a very low number of voters. 22News spoke Wednesday night with 3 out of 4 State Treasurer candidates about the importance of voting.

Tom Conroy said, “The Mass. Building Authority. The lottery, something a lot of people know about. The pension fund. So all of those people touch those three areas should realize that the treasurer’s office has a very important place in their lives.”

Deb Goldberg said, “I talk about real issues that the treasurer can rightfully. The treasurer can invest in small businesses, particularly here in the Greater Springfield area.”

Barry Finegold said, “I’ll do a good job protecting everyone’s tax dollars. You know, it’s a gift in this country that we have that some take for granted. Freedom is not free, and the right to vote is a real privilege. I hope people, whoever they vote for, come out and vote.”

The State Primary is Tuesday, September 9th. 22News will bring you up-to-the-minute results that night on after the polls close.
