SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – It was another nice day, but temperatures this month are not what we typically expect this time of year. We usually have temperatures in the 80s and 90s in August but that hasn’t been the case lately.
It was a beautiful day at Look Park in Northampton on Wednesday. People were enjoying the sunshine and comfortable conditions.
It has been cooler that normal lately with highs in the 70s and lows only in the 40s and 50s that’s more typical of mid September. In fact we haven’t reached 90 degrees during the month of August. The last time we had temperatures in the 90s was back on July 23rd.
Some people 22News talked to don’t mind this kind of weather. “I rather what we have right now than the 90s. I’m not a person who enjoys the 90s I enjoy this. I wish we could have this all year long I really do,” said Hazel Waller of Florence.
Julie Nelson of Northampton said, “It’s fabulous it’s really wonderful cool nights perfect days I mean you can’t ask for more than that.”
Temperatures did warm up a little more with highs getting up into the lower 80s, that’s more typical for this time of year.
