SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield-based Christian school has a new name, a new look and a bigger purpose. The new sign and logo were unveiled for the first time Tuesday night for the Pioneer Valley Christian Academy.
The Former Pioneer Valley Christian School plans to build a new gymnasium, and an expanded media center, and attach them to the existing building on their 25-acre campus on Plumtree Road.
270 students attend classes there from pre-school through twelfth grade, with a strong emphasis on college preparation and old school values.
“It’s a Christian School. So we teach the morals and values from Scripture. And we believe a lot of parents are looking for a school that has a solid foundation. Looking for strong academics,” Headmaster Tim Duff told 22News.
The Pioneer Valley Christian Academy expansion is being funded by parents and friends of the school, according to Duff. He said they hope to raise another one million dollars in the next few months and begin construction on the gymnasium and media center.
