App locks phones until kids call home

The app still allows kids to call 911 when locked

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Tired of your teenage children ignoring your text messages and phone calls? Now, there’s an app for that.

A Texas mom created an app called “Ignore No More” after she got tired of her children not calling or texting her back right away.

The app allows parents to disable their child’s phone. Then, the child has two options: lose the ability to text, play games and take pictures, or call one of the pre-approved contacts to receive an unlock password.

Ariel Rogeness of Suffield told 22News, “If the child isn’t paying the phone bill, then I guess it is a good idea. If you’re at a friend’s house, or purposely ignoring your parents’ house, then I guess it’s a good feature to have a little bit of control when they are not around you.”

The app does allow the child to call 911, even when the phone is locked.
