FERGUSON, MO. (WWLP) - A private autopsy has found that Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, was shot at least six times, including twice in the head.
The autopsy was performed by Dr. Michael Baden a former New York City chief medical examiner. A news conference is planned for 10:00 a.m. Monday morning to discuss forensic findings.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has authorized a second autopsy on Brown to be done by a federal medical examiner. A justice department spokesman said the decision is at the request of the Brown family and “due to the extraordinary circumstances involved in this case.”
The Justice Department says they will also take the results of a state autopsy into account in their investigation.
