PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — One teenager is in custody and a second is in the hospital after a morning shooting in Pittsfield.
The Berkshire Eagle (http://bit.ly/1o5W1ue) reports that police responded to gunfire in the vicinity of Tyler and First streets just before 9 a.m. Monday. Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and saw people flee the area.
One teenage male is in custody and police are looking for a second. The teen in custody is believed to be the shooter.
The victim was undergoing surgery at Berkshire Medical Center.
No names were released.
No possible motive was disclosed.
As a precaution, nearby schools holding summer programs were placed in lockdown.
