SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There’s something about trucks that kids just love to touch. So it came as no surprise that the children gravitated to the trucks during the first annual Touch a Truck day at the Mass Mutual Center in downtown Springfield on Saturday.
There were trucks of all kinds for the boys and girls to climb aboard. Hector Santiago had a pretty good idea this was the place to take his son. “He likes all the big trucks. He watches them on his iPad all the time. The dump trucks, garbage trucks, anything that’s a motor vehicle,” said Santiago.
Touch a Truck events are nothing new here in Western Massachusetts. The Springfield Jewish community has successfully hosted these events for years, but this was the first large scale Touch a Truck community event ever held in downtown Springfield.
